This time. All of Venice is usually like one great big sun dial. The absence of shadows cast on the buildings on a winter day or in the late fall when the sun is tucked neatly away behind the marine layer gives the feeling of aimless adventure on the canals. Days seem longer even when the winter days are shorter. The peacefulness of the early morning lasts all day long. This was our day in Venice. We seemed to have it all to ourselves.
