Tommy
and Ileene Voss have truly enjoyed creating art
through
photography. While traveling to some of the most
beautiful
and unique destinations in the world they have been
able
to capture images that have been transformed into large
format
art for IZON.
Primarily
self taught Ileene's real passion for the art of
photography
began in '92 with 35mm transparency film.
She
has since embraced the endless creative possibilities
found
in the Nikon D series cameras. Tommy's interest
originally
involved primarily under water videography
and
technical management. He now also shoots land
based
photography with his Nikon D200.
Both
have a deep appreciation for the ocean.
Tommy
captures real time action with his Light & Motion
under
water video set-up while Ileene photographs
the
reef with her Nikon D2X protected by an Aquatica
housing.
Much of the art created by Izon is the product
of
transparency images. The Nikon F series cameras and
the
Nikonos V captured many of the images in the
galleries
prior to the larger digital files now made possible
with
their Nikon D200, D1X and D2X. Macintosh
computers
with the most current editing programs and
large
capacity storage have always been their preference
for
artistic design and the technical tasks necessary.
Photography
for Tommy and Ileene is a true
adventure.
Whether it has been day hikes
off
the beaten path in third world countries,
meandering
through the tiny canal villages
of
France and Germany, long countryside
drives
that take them off-road in the remotest
areas
of Spain, Italy or Australia, a journey
over
the Austrian or Swiss Alps, or via the
Caribbean
seas to venture above and below the mysteries
of
the deep, Tommy and Ileene revel in not only the raw
natural
and man made beauty, but immersing themselves
in
the broad cultural variations present in each location.
Experiencing
the masters of art and architecture are other
fascinations
they share. The of art past and present has
truly
complimented their own artistic expression.
Native
Californians, Tommy and Ileene spend most of their
time in sunny California and make Maui, in the Hawaiian
Islands, their second home. They consider themselves privileged
and blessed to share God's beauty with others and honored
when capturing the distinct creativity of the architects
of days
gone by.
